This morning President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi officiated at the handover ceremony of a clinic built by Debswana in Maboane, Takatokwane Constituency.
Named after the village ‘s departed Tribal Chief the Tirelo Motseonageng Clinic was constructed at a cost of P11 million, funded by Debswana as of one of Jwaneng Cut 9 Legacy projects.
Cut 9 is a multi billion pula project that extends the life of Jwaneng Mine to 2035. The construction project of the clinic was awarded to citizen contractors and also supervised by local consultants.
Speaking at the event Debswana Jwaneng Mine General Manager Mr Koolatotse Koolatotse said the project was delivered within budget and ahead of schedule with zero harm.
Koolatotse said the clinic comes at a time when the country is in dire need of additional health facilities.
When officially opening the Clinic President Masisi applauded Debswana for the initiative hailing the partnership between the private sector and public as a necessity, most importantly during the current financial challenges caused occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic.
