The Celebrated Bridge Engineering Consultant who deliverd Kazungula Bridge , also overseeing Construction of Mohembo Bridge.
Over 200 Engineers were involved inthe Construction of the Iconic Kazungula bridge that was officially opened in May this year , from design , geotech, surveyors, structural and top project managers but the technical lead and Bridge Engineering Consultant was non other Motswana Senior Engineer Kobamelo Kgoboko( Pr Eng), Managing Director of CPP Botswana.
The Celebrated Professional Engineer whos also board member of Engineers Registery Board(ERB) has over 37 years delivering Iconic projects,in Botswana , Zimbabwe , Mozambique and South Africa.
The ivy league educated Kgoboko is armed with Master of Engineering MEng Sc. Bridge Engineering and a Bachelor BSc (Civil Engineering) from Edinburgh and Australia aswell as other professional qualifications.
Speaking at the bridge official opening Kgoboko said the Kanzugula Bridge has been completed within budget with no single thebe overrun.
” This is not a norm in projects of this magnitude, we are very proud not to have incurred any budget overrun in this iconic project”
Kgoboko said massive skills transfer has been achived during the project delivery ” we trained Artisans , University students and various technical trades as part of the legacy of this project”
Speaking about Mohembo bridge Kgoboko said he has been involved in the project since late 2000s . ” I have been involved in Mohembo Bridge project for 14 years , from conceptualisation, feasibility studies, design , geotech studies , i am now also taking care of the Construction as the Consulting Engineer, we are delivering another iconic bridge , i can promise Batswana a marvelous masterpiece before end of this year”
