Access Bank Botswana has extended its appreciation to investors who participated in the Botswana Depository Receipt (BDR) Offer linked to the Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals FZE Initial Public Offering (IPO).
With the offer now closed, the programme moves into the application processing, validation and allotment phase ahead of the commencement of trading on the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE).
Introduced through an unsponsored depository receipt structure on the BSE, the Dangote BDR programme enabled investors in Botswana and participating SADC markets to access the Dangote IPO through their local capital markets.
Each BDR is backed one-for-one by an underlying Dangote Refinery ordinary share, giving investors access to the investment through a regulated local market without opening an investment account in Nigeria.
Commenting on the closure of the offer, Country Managing Director of Access Bank Botswana, Sheperd Aisam, said the closure of the offer marks an important step in the implementation of this programme.
“We appreciate the participation of investors and the collaboration of our market partners in bringing this opportunity to Botswana’s capital market,” he said.
“Our immediate focus is on completing the allotment process and ensuring investors receive timely communication as the programme progresses towards trading.”
The Dangote BDR is set to list on the BSE on 14 December, 2026
