Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) will tomorrow host the inaugural Botswana Investment Forum (BIF) at Fairground Holdings in Gaborone.
The forum will be bringing together investors, financiers, policymakers and business leaders to advance Botswanaβs investment and economic diversification agenda.
Held under the theme βCapital. Enterprise. Growth.β, the Forum seeks to move beyond investment promotion towards mobilising capital, developing bankable projects and strengthening partnerships that can translate investment opportunities into tangible economic outcomes.
The event comes as Botswana intensifies efforts to diversify its economy beyond diamonds and strengthen productive industries.
Vice President and Minister of Finance, Ndaba Gaolathe, is expected to deliver the keynote address.
BDC enters the inaugural Forum with significant investment activity, having disbursed P855 million during the financial year ended June 2026, unlocked P614 million through its asset recycling programme and entered FY2027 with an active investment pipeline valued at approximately P1.63 billion.
BDC Managing Director, Oteng Keabetswe, said Botswanaβs economic transformation requires more than investment ambition, emphasising the importance of capital, commercially viable projects and strategic partnerships capable of creating sustainable economic value.
The Forum is expected to provide a platform for connecting investment opportunities with capital and accelerating private sector-led economic growth.
